사람의 혈청에 존재하는 특이 항원에 관한 IgE 항체 profile을 조사함으로써 환자의 알레르기를 일으키는 원인물질 규명 - 진단 : 최선의 치료를 위해 환자의 알레르기를 유발하는 항원 수치 측정 - 예측 : 증상의 유무와 관계없이 IgE 수치로 알레르기 발병 예측 가능 - 모니터링 : 현재 적절한 치료를 받고 있는지 환자 상태 모니터링 2. UniCAP Total IgE : 사람의 혈청 내에 존재하는 총 IgE 농도 측정 - 인체에 순환하는 총 IgE 농도는 대개 알레르기와 연관되어 있음 - 환자의 아토피 상태에 대한 개요 제공 - 직업과 관련된 알레르기의 경우 흔한 유발 항원이 아닐 경우 특별한 알레르기 추적 가능
