There is no longer a need to learn complicated qualifying rules, which differ across products, to ensure compliance. The base license replaces the standard license, version upgrade, competitive upgrade, product upgrade, and the ‘get current’ portion of upgrade advantage. 계약 기간 내에 업그레이드 및 업데이트 제공 최초의 SA 구입은 License와 동시 구매만 가능 License & Software Assurance Package 재계약 시점이나 OEM/FPP의 경우에만 분리 구매 가능 가격은 잔여 계약 기간 동안 반영 Key points: Software assurance is like maintenance – provides software updates and upgrades through term Annuity model: License is the ‘ticket into the annuity’ – never have to re-buy license if you keep your SA active Only available at time of purchasing license (exceptions discussed later) Pro-rated pricing – only pay for years remaining in term (specifics re: timing discussed later – basic message: always reflects remaining years, but I can buy L&SA in year 1, year 2 or even year 3. If a customer wants the benefits of Software Assurance, they have to add it at the time of purchase of the license. In other words, a customer could not purchase the license, and a year later enroll it in Software Assurance. Software Assurance 구조 한 개의 라이센스에 대한 Software Assurance License 자체로의 혜택 소프트웨어 업그레이드 및 기능 강화판 이용 가능 Pool 내에서 신규 라이센스에 대해 Software Assurance를 100% 도입할 경우 Software Assurance Membership 기업 전체에 대한 혜택 EA는 자동 등록 (Open은 등록 불가) 계약 시점에 선택 Key notes: 2 levels of SA benefits: Can decide to enroll a single new license of a single product in SA, and get use rights to upgrades that map to that specific product license. Eg: one new license of Office XP in SA, and the rest just get License Can decide to enroll all new licenses within product pool in SA, and get benefits that will actually extend to your entire entity. Eg: all new application licenses in SA, but all licenses or mix of license only and some License & SA. So the relative potential value of the maintenance for servers, in terms of number of upgrades, is lower. 가격과 Payment SA (renewal용)와 L & SA Package 2년 계약만 유효 Payment 시점 일시불 License 계산 L&SA Package = 2 licenses L&SA를 함께 구매 시 3 copy에 대해서도 계약 가능 Key points: SA is only available as 2-year purchase (not pro-rated if purchased in year two). Full payment required at time of purchase (not amortized over term) For simplicity, Software Assurance is only available as a 2-year purchase in Open Business and Open Volume. So for customers interested in purchasing L&SA after year one, the best way to get the maximum benefits from Software Assurance would be to start a new Authorization number for those purchases. In addition, the total price of the License & Software Assurance is due at time of order. For Open Business, the License and Software Assurance Package counts as 2 licenses toward the entry minimum. Q&A Why can’t I purchase a 1-year package of L&SA, as I can in Select? How will points be attributed to Software Assurance in Open Volume? Software assurance points will be half of the license points per year. If the point value is not a whole number, the points will be rounded up to the nearest whole point (e.g.: .5 will be rounded up to 1 ). For example, if the License is 2 points, software assurance will be 1 point for each year software assurance is covered in the term of the authorization number (2 years). Points are earned when ordered. Why does License & 2 years of SA in Open Business only count as 2 licenses in terms of points? Since I’m paying for 2 years of SA, why doesn’t that count as 3 licenses? SA is counted as half a license and so 1 L + 2*SA = 2L. Even though SA is 29% of the Base License for Office and Windows Desktop OS and 25% of L for Servers, we’re allowing it to count for .5L in terms of points. Microsoft Confidential

Open License 6.0 Renewal 기간 2 년 가격 가격표에 고지 구입 조건 기존 L&SA 또는 SA 계약 고객: Software Assurance 신규 라이센스/제품 계약 고객: Licenses 또는 L & SA Package Key points: When renewing licenses with Software Assurance, customer does not need to purchase the license again – just Software Assurance. At the end of an Open authorization number, a customer can purchase a 2-year package of Software Assurance – there is no need to repurchase the License.
