서남극 반도(Western Antarctic peninsula: WAP)란? 열대 지역을 제외하고 ENSO(El Nino Southern Oscillation)에 대해 매우 큰 반응을 나타내는 지역  Polar jet 강화 및 용승 강화 ( La Nina의 경우 반대 현상)

CC는 유속은 느리지만 깊이가 3000m에 달함 대기보다 해양이 4000배 이상의 열 에너지를 가짐 폐곡선의 형태를 가짐  남극 대륙을 열적으로 고립 북태평양의 경우 따뜻한 아열대 해수가 직접적으로 Nordic Sea의 해빙에 작용한다.

ACC와 바람에 의한 따뜻한 CDW의 상승  대륙붕까지 이동 후 빙하의 기저부에 직접적으로 작용

11 4. Conclusions ACC는 남극 대륙을 열적으로 분리 극해역의 해빙생성에 필요한 표층해수의 북쪽경계 역할
ACC에 의해 따뜻한 CDW의 용승  대륙붕 기저면의 빙하에 작용 바람과 ACC에 의해 상승한 따뜻한 CDW가 실제로 빙하의 기저면에 작용하는가에 대한 더 자세한 연구가 필요.
