3 Sphingosine 18 carbon amino alcohol
Sphingosine을 포함한 sphingolipid는 진핵막 의 구조 혹은 cell signaling pathway에서 역할을 한다. 두 가지 효소에 의해 Phosphorylate된다. Sphingosine kinase 1&2 Sphingosine kinase 1  진핵세포 세포기질(cytosol)에 많이 분포 Sphingosine kinase 2  핵에 많이 분포

4 Sphingosine-1-phosphate(S1P)
1990년도 중반 Sarah Spiegel에 의해 처음 발견됨. Signaling sphingolipid 세포의 성장과 생존 균형을 조절한다. 5가지 G-protein coupled receptor(S1P1-5) 리간드로서 역할을 한다. in vivo S1P의 수준을 컨트롤 함에 따라 여러 질병들의 치료할 수있을 가능성이 있다.

8 Sphk1 selective inhibitor
Decreased in vivo S1P levles that correlated with reduced sickling of red blood cells.(mouse model) Dual inhibitor. No statistical effect in reducing tumor volume in a xenocraft mouse model. First seletvie Sphk2 inhibitor. It is currently phase I clinical trials for panacreatic cancer and solid tumors(NCT ) It is tamoxifen liked activity.
