We made a decision to continue with something similar to the "More like this" query builder form that appears on Document View pages on the current ProQuest platform. Instead of requiring users to check some boxes and execute a search to find similar items, though, the search engine does it in the background and loads suggested articles under the "Other items you might like" heading on Document View pages. This ties into the company's focus on the user and their needs. Our studies show that very few of our primary user type - college students - will take advantage of the "query builder" approach. Instead, they would like the search engine to make suggestions, like Amazon and other sites do.

Users will be able to apply tags to documents and then view all the documents they have tagged with a particular term and be able to run searches for those tags. Applying a tag allows articles to be saved and grouped in My Research under a key word. This is just for private reference, unless a ‘Public Profile’ has been set up, in which case they can be shared. How to set up tags is covered in the User Guide. Web 2.0 features such as tagging can be switched off in the PAM if not wanted. Is it possible to share lists among a select group, as opposed to an entire PQ user community? Supporting sharing among a select group was planned for the initial release of the new platform as we see the potential for this. However, other development priorities caused us to postpone this functionality for a later release of the new platform. This remains on our list of enhancements, and we hope to get it scheduled for the second half of 2011.  Create a new shared list in My Research, by selecting documents and clicking on ‘share in list’. The top rated feature for a number of reasons: ability to save documents, ability to create folders, tags and share lists, RefWorks synchronization (if the customer is also a RW customer), alerts and RSS feeds, as well as remote authentication by using the My Research login credentials. Note that authentication via My Research credentials is automatically disabled in the PAM at present (early Jan). Administrator needs to enable before My Research username and password log in is possible as platform log in. When your My Research account is synchronized with your RW account everything you save in My Research you will be able to see via RefWorks, and everything that you save in RefWorks (which includes references from non-PQ databases) will be visible in My Research. When you see these non-PQ items within My Research you will be able to click on the link and be taken to the external site that hosts that document. Apart from that, you will be able to organize your PQ and non-PQ references into folders, them, create a bibliography, etc. 개인 계정을 통해 저장한 문서, Recent Search, Alerts, RSS, Tag, Shared Lists, Widgets 등을 저장 및 편집 RefWoks 이용자인 경우, RW 계정을 등록하여 자료 연동
