p. 165 One day, a teenage boy sat next to a wise man on a long train journey. The wise man had an expression of calm happiness on his face. After watching him for a few minutes, the boy turned(1) to the man and asked(2), "Sir, you seem to be a very peaceful wise man, but have you mastered anger?"
4
"Yes, I have." "Do you mean to say that you never get angry?"
"No, that's not what I mean." "But you said you've mastered anger." "Yes, I did." "So, you don't feel anger?" "I didn't say that. I just mean that I can control my anger." "Still, I can't help wondering..." the boy said. "Do you really feel that you have your anger fully under control?" "As I've already said, yes, I do." "Yes, but... I find that hard to believe. Are you telling me the truth?"

p. 166 "Enough!" said the wise man, raising his voice. "Stop asking me same thing over and over!" "Well, sir! Now you're angry, so I guess you haven't mastered anger yet." "Actually, I have," the wise man said with a meaningful smile. "Let me explain by telling you a story about a snake."

The villagers were scared of it, so they threw(1) stones at it and stepped(2) on its home. Then the snake started to bite the villagers, and they stopped going to the temple. A monk (who lived in the temple), was unhappy about this, so he went(1) to the snake and told(2) it that it was wrong to bite people. The snake agreed and promised never to do it again.
