Unit 10 관사 (a/an, the) > 1. 부정관사 a/an 1. 부정관사 a/an ‘하나’라는 개념으로, 셀 수 있는 단수 명사 앞에 쓴다. 명사의 첫 소리가 자음이면 a, 모음이면 an을 쓴다. He is a painter. She works in an office. 막연한 하나 an=one 하나의 An hour has sixty minutes. An hour 한 시간 hour 는 h가 묵음이라 모음으로 시작

Unit 10 관사 (a/an, the) > 1. 부정관사 a/an 1. 부정관사 a/an ‘매~, ~마다(per, every)’의 뜻으로도 쓰인다. He drinks three glasses of milk a day. She visits her parents once a week. 하루에 일주일에 a day a week ＊ 명사 앞에 형용사가 있을 경우,「a/an+형용사+명사」의 어순이 된다. 이때 a/an은 형용사의 첫소리에 따라 결정된다. It’s a movie. → It’s an interesting movie. (interesting이 모음[i]로 시작) He is an actor. → He is a Korean actor. (Korean이 자음 [k]로 시작)

Unit 10 관사 (a/an, the) > 2. 정관사 the 2. 정관사 the 세상에 하나뿐인 것을 가리킬 때 쓴다. The moon moves around the earth. The earth moves around the sun. 이어지는 명사의 첫소리가 모음이면 로 발음 ＊ the world, the sea, the sky, the ground, the country 등도 the를 붙여 쓴다.
