1 정의 의문사가 있는 의문문이 다른 문장의 일부가 될 때 주어와 동 사의 위치가 바뀌게 되는데 이것을 간접의문문이라고 한다. 간접의문문 A Do you know what time it is? I don’t understand why they are angry. No one knows where he went.

2 Who are they? → Do you know who they are? Where is the post office? → Can you tell me where the post office is? be 동사 be 동사가 쓰인 의문문은 주어와 be 동사의 위치를 바꾼다. 조동사 조동사가 쓰인 의문문은 주어와 조동사의 위치를 바꾼다. What should I do? → I don't know what I should do. How can I get there? → Does anyone know how I can get there?

3 Where do you live? → Can you tell me where you do live. → Can you tell me where you live. How does he go to school? → Do you know how he does go to school? → Do you know how he goes to school? What did he buy? → I don't know what he did buy. → I don't know what he bought. 일반동사 일반동사가 쓰인 의문문은 do 는 그대로 사라지고, does 와 did 는 일반동사에 흔적을 남기고 사라진다.

4 의문사가 없는 간접의문문은 if 혹은 whether 를 사용해서 나 타낸다. Does she like you? →Do you know if / whether she likes you? Are they coming now? →I don't know if / whether they are coming now. 주의할 사항

7 정의 동사가 명사의 역할 ( 주어, 목적어, 보어 ) 을 할 수 있도록 「동사 +ing 」형태로 쓰이는 것을 동명사라고 한다. 동명사 B e 로 끝나는 단어는 e 를 빼고 -ing 를 붙인다. e.g. come → coming, write → writing 「자음 + 모음 + 자음」으로 끝나는 단어는 제일 끝 자음을 하나 더 쓰고 -ing 를 붙인다. e.g. swim → swimming, begin → beginning -ie 로 끝나는 동사는 -ie 를 -y 로 고치고 -ing 를 붙인다. e.g. die → dying, lie → lying 만드는 법

8 주어 주어 역할을 하는 동명사 (~ 것은, ~ 것이 ) 목적어 목적어 역할을 하는 동명사 (~ 것을 ) Watching movies is a lot of fun. Playing computer games is not good for your health. I enjoy watching movies. He stopped playing computer games.
