Earth Hour

Earth Hour is a global event organized by WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature, also known as World Wildlife Fund) and is held on the last Saturday of March annually, asking households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights and other electrical appliances for one hour to raise awareness towards the need to take action on climate change.World Wide Fund for Nature lightselectrical appliancesclimate change

Earth Hour Earth Hour was conceived by WWF and The Sydney Morning Herald in 2007, when 2.2 million residents of Sydney participated by turning off all non- essential lights. [1] Following Sydney's lead, many other cities around the world adopted the event in [2][3] Earth Hour 2011 took place on March 26, 2011 from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., at participant's local time. More Tip – About Worms 지렁이는 자웅동체이지만, 서로 다른 지렁이들 끼리 짝짓기를 통해 알을 낳아 번식한다. 지렁이에게는 감각기관(눈,코,입 등)이 없는 대 신, 빛과 진동을 감지하는 능력을 이용하여 살아 간다. 땅속에서 생활하는 지렁이는 피부로 호흡을 하 는데, 비가 내려 빗물이 땅속으로 스며들면 호흡 이 힘들어지기 때문에 비 오는 날에는 지표면 밖 으로 나와야 한다.

More Tip – About Worms 지렁이는 땅속과 지표면의 생활을 오고 가면서 전 세계의 거의 모든 지역의 땅에 구멍을 파는데, 이 과정에서 지표면의 영양분을 땅 속으로 이동 시킴으로써 흙의 겉과 속을 솎아주는 역할을 합 니다. 이런 식으로 토양의 영양분을 고르게 해서 비옥하게 하고, 토양에 공기통로를 만들어 흙이 숨쉴 수 있게 해주며, 물을 스며들게 하는 배수 등에 중요한 공헌을 하고 있다.
