Intrinsic: Contact activation pathway Extrinsic: Tissue factor pathway Heparin Monitoring: ACT aPTT Anti Xa POC

4 ACT: Activated Clotting Time
Increase linearly to relation to the unfractionated heparin concentration Method in paper: Clot formation via the intrinsic coagulation by the addition of factor XII activators (ex. Diatomaceous earth[celite], kaolin, glass beads, allagic acid) Clotting times may also vary between ACT analyzers, depending on the source and the formula of the activator, or the method of clot detection Instrument-specific protocols should be established

Cuvette is warmed to 37 °C ±1.0 °C Measures the required volume of blood The reduction in flow below a predetermined value Clot is formed Internal timer measures the time(in seconds) Test Channel Waste Channel 1) Mixed with reagents Sample is moved back and forth monitored for clot formation The rate of movement of the sample is monitored by a series of LED optical detectors. When the blood clots, the flow is impeded.

6 Heparin as anticoagulant
현재 Extrinsic Pathway+Common Pathway에 대한 Coagulation 속도 측정할 때 사용하는 PT Method 사용중 ※PT(Prothrombin Time) Warfarin usage에선 PT값을 사용 하지만, Heparin Usage에선 Intrinsic Pathway+Common Pathway에 대한 Coagulation 속도 측정할 때 사용하는 ACT 또는 aPPT 수치를 참고해야 함. Heparin as anticoagulant
