부분 영어 강좌 절대평가 강좌 !!! (Everyone can earn A grade !!!) 본 “현대정당의 이해” 강좌는 부분 영어 수업 Accordingly, I will use both English and Korean.  To be more specific, I will teach in English for the first 15-20 minutes of class Yet, you can speak in Korean in class (participation, questioning, debate, presentation, and exam etc) 절대평가 강좌 !!! Midterm and Final Exam (60%) Format is a combination of multiple choice, short identification, and short essay. All readings materials and lecture notes will be a fair game on the exams (50-50!). 한국어 혹은 영어 답안 모두 가능

Pop Quiz (5%) 매주 수요일 강의 시작할 때 3-5 문제 정도 출제 Weekly Reading에서 출제

Party Presentation (10%) Choose one political party around the world (Korea included) and present it with PPT (10 slides maximum (strictly enforced!!!) About PIG, PIE, and PO 2인 1조 발표 (강의등록 인원에 따라 개별 발표가 될 수도 있음, 매주 월요일 수업 후반부에 발표) 각 10분 발표 담당 교수에게 발표 날짜 (변경 불가능)와 발표정당 (변경 가능)을 9월 10일 (수) 까지 이메일로 보낼 것 seojk@khu.ac.kr first-come, first served!

Attendance and Participation I will check the attendance every class (10%). 2번 지각은 1번 결석으로 계산됨 5번 이상 지각인 경우 출석 grade는 최대 5% 이상 받을 수 없음 I will also never fail to note and record participation for grades. (5%)  수업 참여와 토론 참여는 필수  참여가 전혀 없는 경우 참여점수 0%

Electronic Device Class Policy Students using laptop computers MUST sit in the back of the classroom to avoid disturbing fellow students. Of course, use of cellphones and texting are never permitted in class. 전화 혹은 문자 등은 절대 허용 안됨 Any violation of these policies may result in a zero for your attendance grade. 적발시 출석 점수 0

Class Manner Policy Once you are in class, you will NOT get out of the classroom until the class is over. Except for the “exceptional cases” you have to explain to me right away… In particular, during the class presentations, students are NOT allowed to get out. Violating this rule should result in some penalty.

A couple of more things … Read, Read, Read ! It is imperative that you do all the readings. Show me your work ! Create a good report and present it well! Be active in class participation ! It will DEFINATELY make a difference for your final grade.

(PIG) Party-in-the-electorate, composed of those voters who identify with the party and regularly vote for its nominees. (PIE) Party-as-organization, dedicated to electing the party’s candidate. (PO)
